About Us

BREWARRINA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL (BCS) RECOGNISES THAT ALL PEOPLE ARE CREATED UNIQUELY AND IN THE IMAGE OF GOD, AND ARE PRECIOUS AND VALUED IN HIS SIGHT

Our vision is to see outback students given the opportunity for a quality Christian education that will equip them to seize opportunities in life and give back to their communities. All staff are required to be committed evangelical Christians with an understanding of how faith impacts education.

The school will always be small in number, and students taught in stages using a personalised approach to ensure each child is able to have their learning needs met. The NSW curriculum is delivered for all students, and the school meets all NESA requirements for registration and accreditation, but the curriculum will be presented from a Biblical world and life perspective.

OUR CHRISTIAN DISTINCTIVE:

Brewarrina Christian School has a clear vision to honour Christ in all its programs and practices. Each staff member is a committed Christian who holds strongly to the belief that we are all created and loved by God. It is within this Christian environment that we nurture and equip students to value and respect themselves and each other.

OUR LOCATION:

Brewarrina Christian School is situated in the central-west of New South Wales on a site located 30 minutes bus drive south of Brewarrina. We anticipate opening a second campus in Brewarrina for K-2 students in mid 2023.

When planning to commence Brewarrina Christian School it was discovered that a 1200 acre property 50 kilometres south of Brewarrina township in Gongolgon was available for purchase that had the necessary infrastructure for a self-contained school already on site. This previous school was no longer in operation and so when our partner school, Green Point Christian College bought the property with a view to offer outdoor education/adventure activities and curriculum experiences for their students on the site it subsequently became possible to lease a part of this site for the commencement and ongoing operation of Brewarrina Christian School.

Brewarrina is a small town of approximately 1000 people and the school will cater for local students initially with boarding facilities to open in a few years’ time for students from other outback towns.

We currently have 26 students, K-9, on Ngemba Station. And we have approval for K-10 for 2025.

The school site includes five staff houses, two boarding dormitories for 21 students each, Science, TAS and Food Technology classrooms with general learning spaces incorporated in them and a general classroom plus offices, ablutions and commercial kitchen and dining room. The grounds are spacious, and the site is self-contained with its own water treatment plant (water license for water from the Bogan River) and sewage system.
